The Cold Steel 4-Max Scout pairs a 4-inch stonewashed AUS-10A blade with a Dark Earth Griv-Ex handle and a lockback, closing to 6 inches, with a thumb stud and pocket clip.

The Scout is the accessible version of Cold Steel’s 4-Max, keeping the 4-inch blade and the lockback while dropping the price well below the original. Griv-Ex is a glass-reinforced polymer, stiff and light, which is how a folder this size stays manageable in a pocket. Dark Earth is a flat tan rather than black, a colorway borrowed from military kit.

AUS-10A is a Japanese stainless with enough carbon to hold a working edge and enough chromium to shrug off moisture, and the stonewashed finish hides scratches by arriving already textured.
