Description

The Xantrex C-Series C12 is a 12A PWM controller that can function as a solar charge controller, DC load controller, or automatic lighting controller. Its combination of charging, low-voltage load management, and programmable lighting makes it particularly useful in smaller remote-power systems, cabins, outdoor lighting installations, and compact off-grid applications.

As a charge controller, the C12 uses three-stage charging with user-definable voltage settings and automatic equalization for supported lead-acid batteries. Optional battery-temperature sensing can adjust charging behavior as battery temperature changes.

The load-control circuitry includes field-adjustable low-voltage disconnect and reconnect points plus a five-minute low-battery warning period before load shutdown. This helps protect the battery while giving the operator or connected system time to respond.

In lighting-control mode, operating time can be programmed from two to eight hours or set for dusk-to-dawn operation. Electronic protection detects short-circuit, overload, over-temperature, and reverse-polarity conditions, while conformal-coated boards and a powder-coated enclosure help the controller withstand harsher environments.
