Description

The Xantrex 30A MPPT Solar Charge Controller is designed for efficient charging of 12V house and starter battery banks from a solar array. Its Maximum Power Point Tracking technology continuously adjusts the operating point of the connected panels to capture more usable solar energy than a conventional PWM controller, with Xantrex estimating a 20% to 30% improvement in daily harvest under suitable conditions.

The controller supports higher-voltage PV array designs up to 72V nominal, giving installers more flexibility when arranging panels in series and helping reduce current on the solar side of the system. Dual battery outputs allow the controller to charge and maintain both a house bank and a starter battery from the same solar installation.

Supported house-battery chemistries include sealed AGM, gel, flooded lead-acid, and LiFePO4. Built-in protection for both the PV array and battery side helps guard the charging system against common electrical faults, while the integrated LCD provides real-time operating information without requiring a separate display.

Optional accessories include a remote battery-temperature sensor and remote panel. The controller is compatible with solar panels from a wide range of manufacturers, making it suitable for new installations as well as upgrades to existing arrays.
