The Whitecap 304 SS Rod and Cup Holder, 30-Degree has a threaded body with a locking nut, so it installs without a backing plate.

That threaded fitting is what makes it workable where you cannot reach behind the gunwale to hold a plate. The bottom is open with a threaded insert, so a pipe or hose barb can be fitted and the drain routed where you want it.

A pin is included for locking a rod in place. The cup holder measures 4-3/4 inches outside diameter with a 2-1/2 inch depth and a 4 inch cut-out, in 304 stainless at 30 degrees. There is more in our rod holders.
