Description

The Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100-MC4 is designed for large series-connected solar arrays charging 48V battery systems. Its wide high-voltage PV operating range allows long panel strings to be used efficiently, making the controller well suited to larger off-grid, marine, and grid-connected battery installations where minimizing cable loss and maximizing solar harvest are priorities.

Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking continually adjusts to changing panel conditions, while the battery charging parameters are fully programmable for lead-acid, lithium, and other supported chemistries. Independent tracking inputs improve performance when solar sections operate under different conditions. Built-in Bluetooth provides setup, control, live operating data, history, and trend information through VictronConnect.

VE.Can ports allow multiple compatible SmartSolar RS and VE.Can controllers to be daisy chained so their charging stages synchronize and their operating data can be sent to a GX device. When the GX device has internet access, Victron Remote Management provides remote monitoring and control. The front display shows battery voltage, charging current, individual array voltage and current, totals, system status, and error codes. Programmable relay outputs plus remote voltage and temperature sensing provide additional integration options, while isolated PV connections, active cooling, and covered electrical terminals support a safer high-voltage installation.
