The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/60 is designed for larger solar arrays where high PV voltage and efficient energy harvesting are important. By continuously monitoring solar-panel voltage and current, its ultra-fast MPPT technology finds the operating point that produces the most usable power and directs that energy into the battery bank as efficiently as possible.

Built-in Bluetooth provides wireless setup, monitoring, and configuration through VictronConnect, while compatible GX equipment can extend monitoring to Victron Remote Management when the installation has internet access. The controller can also support remote installations through compatible communication products. SmartSolar is designed to recharge severely depleted batteries and can begin operating at very low battery voltage when the cells themselves remain recoverable.

Victron’s intelligent load-management logic can protect batteries from repeated over-discharge by disconnecting loads at a configured threshold and adjusting behavior when the battery has not been returned to full charge. Advanced MPPT tracking is especially useful during partial cloud cover, when rapidly changing sunlight can cause slower controllers to leave energy unused. For high-voltage marine and off-grid arrays, the 250/60 combines strong solar harvesting, connected monitoring, and battery-protection logic in one controller.
