Description

The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/70 VE.Can charge controller is built for larger solar systems that benefit from synchronized charging and networked monitoring. It accepts a high-voltage PV array, automatically detects common battery-bank voltages, and uses ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking to convert changing solar input into controlled battery charging.

Bluetooth provides local setup, monitoring, and configuration through VictronConnect, while VE.Can ports allow multiple compatible SmartSolar controllers to be daisy chained together. When linked over VE.Can, the individual controllers can synchronize their charging stages so a larger multi-controller solar system behaves as one coordinated charging source rather than several independent units.

The charging settings are fully programmable for different battery chemistries, including lead-acid and lithium systems. A connected GX device can collect data from the charger network and, when internet access is available, make that information accessible through Victron Remote Management. SmartSolar can also attempt to recharge a severely depleted battery when the cells remain serviceable. For boats or off-grid installations that may expand beyond a single controller, the VE.Can platform provides a scalable path to coordinated high-output solar charging.
