Victron Smart BMS CL 12/100 for LiFePO4 Batteries

Description

The Victron Smart BMS CL 12/100 is a battery-management system designed for 12V installations using Victron LiFePO4 Smart batteries and a 12V alternator. It protects the lithium battery bank while also managing the alternator charging path so the engine charging system can be used safely with lithium batteries.

The BMS monitors individual battery-cell conditions and can disconnect the alternator, other charging sources, or DC loads if it detects low cell voltage, high cell voltage, or excessive temperature. This helps protect the battery against conditions that could damage the cells or force an uncontrolled shutdown.

A dedicated alternator input includes current limiting and one-way charging from the alternator toward the lithium bank. This allows a wide range of alternator sizes to be connected while helping protect the starter battery from excessive discharge into the service bank when the engine is not charging.

A remote on/off input allows the BMS and connected system to be controlled from an external switch. The pre-alarm contact can provide advance warning before the BMS disconnects the battery because a protection threshold is approaching.
