Victron Smart BMS 12/200 for LiFePO4 Batteries

Description

The Victron Smart BMS 12/200 is an all-in-one battery-management system designed specifically for 12V installations using Victron LiFePO4 Smart batteries and a 12V alternator. It combines battery protection, alternator current limiting, battery combining, and load control in one compact unit, making it particularly useful in boats, RVs, service vehicles, and other mobile systems where the starter battery and lithium service bank share the engine charging system.

The BMS monitors individual battery-cell conditions and can disconnect charging sources, the alternator path, or DC loads if it detects low cell voltage, high cell voltage, or excessive temperature. This protects the lithium bank against conditions that could shorten battery life or trigger a more severe battery fault.

A dedicated alternator connection provides current limiting and one-way charging from the alternator into the lithium battery bank. That allows a wide range of 12V alternator sizes to be used while helping protect both the alternator and the starter battery. The one-way path also prevents the lithium bank from discharging back into the starting system when the engine is not charging.

Bluetooth provides monitoring and configuration through VictronConnect. A remote on/off input allows the BMS and connected system to be shut down from an external switch or control signal, while a pre-alarm contact can provide advance warning before the BMS disconnects the batteries because of an approaching protection limit.
