Description

The Victron Smart BatteryProtect 220A is designed to disconnect nonessential loads before a 12V or 24V battery bank is deeply discharged or loses the reserve needed to crank an engine. It can also function as a system on/off switch, giving marine, RV, and off-grid installations a high-current electronic way to protect batteries and control major DC loads.

The unit automatically detects 12V or 24V system voltage during setup. Bluetooth allows custom engage and disengage thresholds to be programmed through a compatible device, while nine predefined voltage profiles can also be selected with the programming pin. Bluetooth can be disabled when wireless access is not needed.

A dedicated lithium mode allows control by a compatible VE.Bus BMS. The Smart BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge interrupter in supported lithium charging arrangements. MOSFET switching means there are no mechanical relay contacts to spark, and ultra-low current consumption helps reduce parasitic drain after a low-voltage shutdown.

Over-voltage protection disconnects sensitive loads if system voltage rises beyond the supported limits. A delayed alarm output waits before triggering, helping avoid nuisance alarms during engine starting. If low voltage persists, the load disconnects after a delay, and reconnection occurs only after voltage has recovered above the programmed threshold.
