Victron SmallBMS NG for Lithium NG Batteries

Description

The Victron SmallBMS NG is an all-in-one battery-management system for Victron Lithium NG batteries in installations that do not require VE.Bus inverter/charger integration. It provides essential lithium battery protection and coordinated control of charging sources and loads while keeping the system simpler than a full VE.Bus BMS NG installation.

The BMS monitors the connected Lithium NG battery system and manages load disconnect, charge disconnect, and pre-alarm functions. The Load Disconnect output can control compatible BatteryProtect units, inverters, DC-DC converters, and other equipment with remote on/off inputs to prevent damaging deep discharge. The Charge Disconnect output can control compatible chargers, Cyrix-Li relays, battery combiners, or BatteryProtect devices when charging must stop.

Built-in Bluetooth connects directly to the Lithium NG battery system for centralized monitoring through VictronConnect. Battery current and state-of-charge data are received directly from the batteries, so a separate SmartShunt is not required for basic battery monitoring. A pre-alarm output can drive a relay, LED, or buzzer before a low-voltage shutdown, while remote on/off allows external control of the charge and load disconnect outputs.

Lithium NG batteries can be configured in series, parallel, or series/parallel arrangements for 12V, 24V, and 48V systems. The architecture supports up to 50 batteries in 12V or 24V banks and up to 25 batteries in 48V banks.
