Victron Skylla-TG 24V 30A GMDSS Charger

Description

The Victron Skylla-TG 24/30 GMDSS is a specialized battery charger and power supply designed for Global Maritime Distress and Safety System installations. Unlike a standard charger that would require additional monitoring equipment, this model is built to provide the battery and GMDSS system with the charging, status, and alarm information required for a dedicated maritime safety installation.

The battery and GMDSS system connect directly to the charger, while a separately available VE.Net GMDSS digital panel displays operating data and alarms through a standard eight-wire UTP connection. The system is pre-programmed for GMDSS functionality but still provides an intuitive menu for changing settings when required. A built-in battery controller monitors available battery capacity closely enough for the remote panel to estimate remaining operating time during a power failure.

Charging voltage can be adjusted for VRLA or flooded batteries, and the three-step IUoUo charging characteristic is temperature compensated. The charger can also function as a power supply and includes forced cooling plus protection against output short circuits, reverse battery polarity, excessive battery voltage, and excessive temperature.
