Description

The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 24/24-17A is an isolated DC-DC charger and power supply designed for 24V dual-battery systems. It is especially useful where a smart alternator, long cable run, or other voltage-loss condition can leave a service battery undercharged even though the source system is nominally the same voltage.

Victron’s adaptive three-stage charging process uses bulk, absorption, and float stages and can be configured for lead-acid or lithium batteries. Bluetooth connectivity provides wireless setup, monitoring, alarms, and firmware updates through VictronConnect, while Instant Readout allows key operating data to be seen directly from the device list. The unit can also be programmed for fixed output when used as a stabilized DC power supply.

Engine-running detection helps stop the converter when the source system is no longer active, protecting the starter battery from unnecessary discharge. A remote on/off connection supports external control, and multiple Orion-Tr Smart chargers can be paralleled when more charging current is needed. The charger is short-circuit protected and reduces output automatically if ambient temperature rises too high.
