Description

The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12 DC-DC charger is designed for dual-battery systems in boats and vehicles where the alternator and starter battery need to recharge a separate 12V service battery. Built-in Bluetooth lets the unit be monitored and programmed through VictronConnect, providing live status information and convenient access to charger settings without requiring direct access to the installation.

The charger uses an adaptive three-stage charging process and supports both lead-acid and lithium battery systems. Its engine-running detection and remote on/off capability make it well suited to modern vehicle and marine charging systems, including installations where charging should stop automatically when the engine is not operating. The unit can also be configured for use as a DC power supply when fixed output is required.

Victron allows multiple Orion-Tr Smart chargers to be connected in parallel when additional charging capacity is needed. The design is suitable for high ambient temperatures, providing full rated output through typical operating temperatures before reducing output as conditions become hotter.
