Victron Galvanic Isolator VDI-32A Waterproof

Description

The Victron VDI-32A Galvanic Isolator helps reduce electrolytic corrosion caused by low-voltage DC currents traveling through a boat’s shore power grounding conductor. These stray galvanic currents can contribute to corrosion of underwater metals such as propellers, shafts, through-hulls, and other bonded components.

The isolator uses anti-parallel diodes that block low-voltage galvanic current while still allowing higher fault current to pass through the shore-ground path. This preserves the safety function of the AC grounding system while interrupting the small voltage differences that can drive corrosion between dissimilar metals.

The unit is installed directly in the shore power grounding path behind the boat’s 120V or 230V connection and is potted for waterproof protection. This model is not ABYC A-28 approved.
