Victron Cerbo GX MK2 Communications Center

Description

The Victron Cerbo GX MK2 is a communications and control center that brings connected charging, battery, solar, generator, tank, and AC-power equipment into one monitoring environment. Hardware revision 2 expands the original Cerbo GX design with two fully functional CAN-bus ports, three fully functional USB host ports, pulse-counting digital inputs, and an isolated VE.Can port for more flexible system integration.

Users can monitor battery state of charge, power consumption, PV harvest, shore or mains input, generator operation, tank levels, and temperature measurements through connected equipment. System settings can be adjusted locally or remotely, including shore-power current limits and automatic generator start/stop behavior. Alerts, diagnostic information, and system performance can also be reviewed remotely through the Victron Remote Management portal.

The MK2 provides two full CAN-bus interfaces, VE.Can 1 and VE.Can 2, instead of the earlier arrangement that paired one VE.Can port with a dedicated BMS-CAN port. VE.Can 1 is isolated, which can be useful in installations that need both a Lynx Smart BMS connection and another CAN-based network such as RV-C. All three USB ports are fully functional for host use, and the digital inputs can perform pulse counting for compatible sensors or meters.

Bluetooth enables quick local configuration through VictronConnect, while compatible GX Touch displays provide a dedicated dashboard interface. The optional GX Touch 50 connects with a single cable and can be mounted cleanly on a helm or electrical panel. The Cerbo GX MK2 itself can be DIN-rail mounted with the appropriate adapter.

In generator-based marine and off-grid systems, the Cerbo GX MK2 can automate generator operation, delay starts during configured quiet periods, and coordinate the wider energy system.
