Description

The Victron Centaur 12V 60A charger is a rugged three-bank marine charging system designed for dependable operation in heat, humidity, and salt air. Its aluminum epoxy-powder-coated case, drip shield, stainless steel hardware, and acrylic-coated circuit boards help protect the charger from the corrosion and environmental stress common aboard boats.

A universal AC input allows the Centaur to operate without adjustment across a wide range of shore-power voltages and frequencies, and it can also accept a high-voltage DC supply for AC-DC or DC-DC applications. Three isolated outputs allow three battery banks to charge simultaneously, and each output is capable of delivering the charger’s full rated current as system demand changes.

The automatic three-stage charging process begins at bulk rate, starts a timed absorption period after output current falls to the specified threshold, and then transitions to float charging. An internal temperature sensor adjusts charging voltage as temperature changes, while thermal protection can reduce output current under extreme conditions. A DIP switch allows charge and float voltages to be matched to flooded lead-acid, gel, or AGM batteries.
