Description

The Victron Blue Smart IP22 charger combines adaptive charging with built-in Bluetooth for owners who want detailed control over a 12V battery system. Through VictronConnect, charging voltage and current can be monitored wirelessly, settings can be changed, and firmware can be updated when new charger features become available.

The microprocessor-controlled six-stage adaptive algorithm moves through test, bulk, absorption, recondition, float, and storage stages. Victron adjusts the charging process according to how the battery is being used rather than relying on one fixed timing pattern. Storage mode lowers float voltage after extended periods without discharge to reduce gassing and positive-plate corrosion, then periodically raises voltage to help limit electrolyte stratification and sulfation.

The charger also supports lithium-ion batteries with an appropriate charging algorithm and includes a recovery function that can begin charging from extremely low battery voltage. Night and Low modes reduce output and eliminate fan noise when quiet operation is preferred. High conversion efficiency reduces heat and standby power use once charging is complete, while over-temperature protection automatically reduces output if internal temperature rises.
