The TACO Grand Slam 300 Universal Backing Plate is a pair of plates made exclusively for the Grand Slam GS-300 and GS-390 outrigger mounts, giving strength and directional guidance when the base is installed through a T-top.

The directional part is what sets these apart from a plain plate. Markers every 22.5 degrees align with the locking detents of the outrigger mount above, so the base ends up square to the boat rather than a few degrees off, which is hard to correct once the holes are drilled.
