Standard Horizon HX400IS Intrinsically Safe Handheld VHF

Description

This Standard Horizon handheld earns its Intrinsically Safe rating for hostile commercial environments, where an intrinsically safe rating isn’t optional, industrial job sites, tank vessels, and any workplace with combustible atmospheres that a standard radio simply can’t be used around.

Beyond that safety certification, it’s a fully capable handheld: a noise-canceling mic built into the unit keeps calls clear, a voice scrambler adds privacy when needed, and an exceptionally bright LED strobe improves visibility in a distress situation. Selectable 5 or 1 watt transmit power lets an operator dial in range versus battery conservation, and dealer programming can load 40 Land Mobile Radio channels with CTCSS and DCS tone signaling, extending it well past pure marine use into shore-side operations too.

Selectable 5W/1W transmit power. Includes 2550mAh Li-Ion battery with 3-hour AC and DC quick chargers. Every USA, international, and Canadian marine frequency is covered, along with NOAA weather alerting, programmable scan, priority scan, dual watch, and a 10-channel preset key.
