Description

The Smith & Wesson Search & Rescue Fixed Blade is an 11.25 in Search and Rescue fixed blade with a 6 in black-oxide 8Cr13MoV stainless blade.

The edge is partially serrated, giving the front section a conventional cutting edge and the serrated section more bite on rope, webbing, and other fibrous material. The larger blade size provides more reach than a compact rescue folder, while the fixed construction eliminates a pivot or opening mechanism.

A black polymer handle includes a glass breaker at the rear. Smith & Wesson also supplies a synthetic sheath and a sharpening stone, so both covered carry and basic edge maintenance are accounted for in the package.

The black synthetic sheath is part of the rescue package, not an afterthought. Together with the glass breaker and sharpening stone, it gives the 6 in partially serrated blade both a carry system and a basic maintenance accessory.
