Description

The SmartPlug White Non-Metallic Inlet Cover is intended for SmartPlug’s high-capacity marine shore power inlet system and provides a finished exterior option for installations where a white non-metallic appearance is preferred. The inlet system underneath uses SmartPlug’s expanded contact design to provide substantially more electrical contact area than traditional twist-style shore power connections.

That increased contact area improves conductivity during sustained electrical demand and helps reduce the localized resistance and heat buildup that can occur at worn twist-style connections. The mating SmartPlug connector pushes straight into the keyed inlet instead of twisting into place, and side locking clips hold it securely so movement of the shore cord is less likely to place stress directly on the electrical contacts.

Gaskets in the inlet cover and mating connector help block moisture from reaching the electrical interface when the system is properly connected. The mounting flange is designed around common existing twist-style inlet hole patterns, which can simplify retrofit work and reduce the amount of panel modification required.
