Description

The SmartPlug Twist-Type Cordset is designed for boat owners who have upgraded the vessel side to SmartPlug but still need to connect to the traditional twist-style receptacles found at many marina pedestals. The mixed-end configuration preserves broad dockside compatibility while giving the boat-side connection the locking and sealing benefits of the SmartPlug system.

At the vessel end, SmartPlug’s multi-point locking system uses side clips to secure the connector body and reduce mechanical stress on the electrical contacts when the cord moves. Silicone gaskets inside the connector help block water intrusion once the plug is engaged, while tinned marine conductors help resist corrosion in humid and saltwater environments. The dockside end uses a conventional twist-style plug for connection to common marina power sources.

The SmartPlug female connector also includes red and blue LED indicators for a quick visual check of incoming power and reverse-polarity conditions.
