The Small 203296 Skinner Patch Knife carries a 2.625-inch stainless blade with a full tang at 5.5 inches overall, set in brown wood handles, with a brown leather belt sheath finished with fringe and bead trim.

The sheath is the detail worth noting. Fringe and beadwork are frontier and Native American decorative traditions, and finding them on a sheath at this price is unusual where plain stitched leather is the norm. The patch knife is an old American pattern, named for the greased cloth patches muzzleloader shooters cut at the muzzle when loading a ball. It was made small, simple and cheap, and the shape survived because there is nothing on it to fail.

Full tang construction runs the steel the whole length of the handle, so there is no joint between blade and grip to loosen over years of use.
