The Shakespeare 410-R Mounting Kit is a marine antenna installation solution designed to securely mount marine VHF, AM/FM, and AIS antennas to your boat. Constructed with marine-grade materials, the 410-R Mounting Kit is built to withstand harsh marine environments, including salt spray, UV exposure, and vibration. Its robust design ensures antennas remain securely positioned—even in rough water or high-speed conditions.

Compatible with many Shakespeare marine antennas and standard antenna bases (sold separately), the 410-R simplifies installation and provides a stable, long-lasting mount for your antenna setup.

Key Components & Features

• 81-S Swivel Mount (Base): Made from heavy-duty 316 stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance. It features standard 1″-14 threads to fit almost all marine antennas.

• 408-R Stand-off Bracket (Upper): A molded, white plastic insulated bracket that secures the antenna’s radome. It includes a “gate” with a wing nut for quick opening and closing.

• Universal Sizing: The stand-off bracket is designed for 1.5″ diameter antennas but includes reducing inserts to accommodate 1″ and 1.125″ diameters.

• Dual-Axis Pivot: The base mount permits mounting on vertical or horizontal surfaces and allows the antenna to lay down in your desired direction.

Installation Tips

• Spacing: For maximum stability, place the stand-off bracket as high as possible—ideally at least 3 to 4 feet above the swivel base.

• Reinforcement: If mounting to a thin fiberglass surface, use a “backing plate” (marine-grade plywood or G10 board) behind the surface to distribute the load and prevent cracking.

• Cable Routing: Be careful not to pinch or crimp the coaxial cable when assembling the antenna to the swivel base.

Do you need help choosing the right fasteners?

Since the 410-R does not include screws, you will need eight 1/4″ stainless steel fasteners (four for the base, four for the bracket). I can help you determine whether to use wood screws or through-bolts based on your boat’s hull thickness.
