The Sea-Dog 30-Degree Cast SS Flush Mount Rod Holder uses a cast stainless mounting flange shaped to take a gasket, which addresses the leakage common to other cast rod holders.

That gasket seat is worth understanding. A cast flange that sits directly on the gunwale relies on sealant alone, and sealant eventually lets water past into the core. A flange designed for a gasket gives you a proper seal from the start.

It is investment cast 316 stainless with a UV resistant PVC cap and a full length polyethylene liner, set at 30 degrees, accommodating rods up to 1-1/2 inches. Installation takes three 12 flat head fasteners, not included. Find more in our rod holders.
