Description

The Samlex 24V battery charger combines automatic multi-stage charging with the flexibility to function as a DC power supply or part of a battery-backed UPS system. Its switch-mode architecture is designed for efficient, lightweight, and quiet operation, making it suitable for marine systems, test benches, communications sites, vehicles, and other installations where dependable 24V battery management is required.

A DIP switch allows the user to choose between a three-stage charging profile for normal battery recovery and a two-stage algorithm for batteries that remain connected to an active DC load. Half Power Mode reduces available charging current when working with lower-capacity batteries, helping prevent unnecessarily aggressive charging. Two battery banks can be charged simultaneously without adding a separate isolator, and front-panel voltage and current monitoring provide an immediate view of charger operation. The charger is also compatible with Samlex’s 900-RC remote control for installations where local access to the charger is inconvenient. A two-year limited warranty supports the unit, and Samlex lists marine, automotive, communications, hobby, test-bench, and battery-backup systems among its intended applications.

The included temperature sensor helps prevent undercharging or overcharging when battery temperature changes substantially. Protection circuitry addresses short circuits, overloads, reverse battery connection, and excessive temperature, while output-controlled fan cooling helps balance thermal management with quieter operation.
