Description

The Newmar NP-24 Nav-Pac is a 24V power conditioner and short-duration backup supply designed to protect sensitive marine communication and navigation electronics from unstable DC power. Equipment such as GPS units, data transceivers, and other microprocessor-controlled devices can be affected by voltage drop during engine starting, transient spikes from motors and alternators, and conducted electrical noise. The Nav-Pac helps isolate those problems before they reach the connected electronics.

The unit supports up to 15A output at 24V and includes an internal 5Ah sealed rechargeable battery. During a source-voltage interruption or heavy transient load, the battery can provide temporary backup power, with typical runtime ranging from about 15 minutes at 8A to approximately 2 minutes at 18A. A low-voltage disconnect helps protect the internal battery from excessive discharge.

Noise filtering extends through 200MHz, and transient suppression is rated for up to 100 joules and 4,000A on an 8 x 20 microsecond pulse. These features help protect connected electronics from both sustained interference and short-duration electrical events.

An optional remote panel can be added for installations that need status information at a helm or control station.
