Newmar GI-60-FS 60-Amp Fail Safe Galvanic Isolator

Description

The Newmar GI-60-FS Fail Safe Galvanic Isolator helps protect underwater metals from galvanic corrosion while maintaining the vessel’s critical AC safety-ground path. Installed between the shore-power safety ground and the DC bonding system, it blocks the low-voltage currents that can accelerate zinc consumption and corrosion of propellers, shafts, through-hulls, and other bonded metal components.

A large internal capacitor provides a secondary low-impedance path for AC fault current, while the fail-safe design maintains ground continuity if the isolator itself fails. The unit is designed for 115V or 230V shore-power systems and can withstand high short-circuit current while blocking galvanic voltages up to the specified threshold.

The GI-60-FS meets ABYC A-28 fail-safe requirements and is UL1500 certified for ignition protection.
