Newmar GI-30-FS 30-Amp Fail Safe Galvanic Isolator

Description

The Newmar GI-30-FS Fail Safe Galvanic Isolator reduces galvanic corrosion caused by low-voltage currents traveling through the shore-power grounding system. Installed between the AC safety ground and the vessel’s DC bonding network, it helps protect underwater metals while preserving the safety-ground connection required for fault protection.

An internal capacitor provides an additional low-impedance path for AC current, while the fail-safe design keeps ground continuity intact if the isolator experiences an internal failure. The unit supports 115V and 230V shore-power installations and is designed to withstand substantial short-circuit current.

The GI-30-FS meets ABYC A-28 fail-safe requirements and carries UL1500 ignition-protection certification. This makes it appropriate for marine installations where both corrosion protection and grounding-system integrity are essential.
