Newmar 32-12-25 DC Converter, 20-50V to 12V

Description

The Newmar 32-12-25 DC Converter converts a 20-50V DC input to regulated 12V output for powering communication, navigation, and other equipment on negative-ground systems. It is well suited to boats, commercial vehicles, and specialty installations that use a higher-voltage main DC system but still need dependable 12V power for conventional electronics.

Output regulation is maintained within 1% under rated line and load conditions. The converter provides up to 25A intermittently and 20A continuously, with a nominal 13.6V output that is internally adjustable from approximately 12.6V to 14.5V. Typical efficiency is about 85%, and ripple is limited to 150mV peak-to-peak.

Large heat-sink fins dissipate semiconductor heat for cooler operation and longer component life. The circuit board is conformally coated, while the corrosion-resistant aluminum case and heavy-duty shock mounts help the unit survive demanding marine and mobile environments. Protection includes current limiting, automatic thermal shutdown, short-circuit protection, reverse-polarity protection, and over-voltage protection.

The converter carries the CE mark and can be configured for battery-charging or parallel-redundant operation when properly derated.
