Description

The Mastervolt MasterShunt 500 CZone is a high-accuracy battery monitor that shares battery information across MasterBus, CZone, and NMEA 2000 systems. It acts as a central measurement point for battery voltage, current, state of charge, time remaining, and historical operating data so chargers, inverter/chargers, displays, and control systems can make better decisions based on the actual condition of the battery bank.

The digital shunt continuously measures current flow and combines those readings with battery-specific parameters to calculate state of charge and remaining runtime more accurately. Historical data provides additional insight into battery use, while programmable events can automate functions such as generator starting or warnings at a selected depth of discharge.

An integrated real-time clock allows automation rules to account for time of day, which can be useful for delaying generator starts during quiet hours. Service mode helps preserve system memory during maintenance and reduces the chance of losing learned battery information when work is performed.

The MasterShunt offers flexibility in main-fuse layout. Its internal busbar can be used when an external fuse holder is preferred, or the busbar can be replaced by a compatible ANL or Class T fuse when the shunt is mounted close to the battery. Multiple MasterShunt units can be paralleled for higher-current applications.
