Description

The Mastervolt Magic 12/12-20 is a heavy-duty isolated DC-DC converter for applications that need a stable, adjustable 12V supply under demanding operating conditions. It supports professional, commercial, and recreational installations and can also be configured for battery charging or efficient DC lighting control.

The converter accepts approximately 11-16V DC input and provides a nominal 13.6V output adjustable from 10-15V through MasterAdjust. Continuous output is rated at 20A and 300W, while three-stage charging mode provides up to 16A for compatible batteries. Galvanic isolation separates the input and output circuits, helping reduce ground-loop and electrical-interference problems.

The Magic platform uses high-frequency conversion technology with efficiency above 90% at full load and peak efficiency around 92%. Output voltage remains tightly stabilized across changes in temperature, load, and input voltage. A programmable dimmer function can reduce output for DC lighting without wasting substantial power as heat.

Multiple units can be operated in parallel when more current is required. Communication capability allows integration through a MasterBus Serial Interface, while a PC-Link connection and MasterAdjust software support configuration and remote control from a computer.

Its corrosion-resistant aluminum enclosure, shock-resistant construction, temperature-controlled cooling, alarm contact, and flexible operating modes make the Magic suitable for installations where ordinary converters may not offer enough control or durability.
