Description

Lee’s 15-Degree SS Swivel Base Rod Holder, XL Tube is model RH579XL, a stainless flush mount with an extra long tube and a swivel base, set at a half angle of 15 degrees.

The swivel base is built for bent butt tackle. When side pressure comes onto the rod tip, the butt rotates in the holder rather than levering against a fixed pin. Lee’s points specifically at giant bluefin tuna fishing, where drags around 60 pounds put forces through the rod holder pin that will shear a fixed one.

The extra long tube gives more support along the rod butt than a standard tube. Find more in our rod holders.
