The Kershaw Barstow is a compact, assisted-opening EDC knife built around a 3-inch 8Cr13MoV spear point blade finished in a low-glare black oxide BlackWash coating that resists fingerprints and everyday wear far better than a bright polished blade. Kershaw’s assisted-opening mechanism launches the blade the instant the extended tang flipper gets a push, so the knife deploys with one hand in a single fluid motion rather than requiring a slow, deliberate two-handed opening. A sturdy liner lock holds the blade solidly in the open position during use and disengages with a simple thumb push when it’s time to fold the knife back down.

The handle is molded from black glass-filled nylon, a lightweight, impact-resistant material that keeps the knife’s overall weight down around 5 ounces while still standing up to years of pocket carry, drops, and rough handling.
