The Kai USA Luna Bread Knife is 13.5 in overall with an 8.5 in hammered stainless blade and a serrated cutting edge. The long serrated blade bites through crust without requiring the same downward pressure as a plain edge, which helps reduce crushing on bread and rolls.

A black-and-gray rubberized synthetic handle provides the grip. Kai includes a black synthetic sheath to cover the long serrated edge in storage and recommends hand washing and drying the knife rather than putting it through a dishwasher.

The hammered blade surface gives the Luna a distinctive kitchen appearance without changing the basic job of the serrated edge. The included sheath is useful for a long bread knife because it protects the teeth when the knife is stored loose in a drawer or carried elsewhere.
