The Schrade Imperial 19PRT Small Trapper carries clip and spey blades in a purple acrylic handle, held by a slip joint and opened with nail nicks.

Imperial was one of the great American pocketknife names, turning out affordable working knives from Providence, Rhode Island for most of the twentieth century, and Schrade still uses the name on traditional patterns. The trapper pairing puts a clip blade for general cutting alongside a spey blade whose flat edge and blunted tip handle skinning and scraping without puncturing what lies beneath.

Acrylic gives a depth of color that bone cannot, since light passes into the material rather than stopping at the surface, and it is unaffected by moisture.
