Grohmann Rosewood Trout & Bird Fixed Blade Knife

Description

The Grohmann Trout and Bird carries a 4-inch stainless elliptical blade with a full tang at 8 inches overall, set in an offset rosewood handle, with a brown leather belt sheath. Made in Canada.

Grohmann has worked in Pictou, Nova Scotia since 1957, and the elliptical blade is their signature. Instead of a straight spine and a point, the whole blade curves in a continuous ellipse, which puts belly along the entire edge for skinning and keeps a fine tip for detail work. The offset handle sits below the blade’s centerline, which drops the wrist into a more natural angle when working over a bird or fish on a flat surface.

Rosewood is dense and oily enough to resist moisture from wet game, and it darkens with handling.
