The Fred Perrin Le Trifolder takes a very different approach to a folding knife. Instead of a conventional handle with a separate lock, its 440C stainless handle folds back into itself to secure the 3-inch 440C stainless blade. Closed, the knife measures 3.75 inches, keeping the package compact while preserving a full three inches of cutting edge.

That trifold construction is the defining feature of the RD3F. The steel handle becomes part of the blade-retention system when the knife is opened, giving the design a minimalist mechanical layout with very few separate components. Because both the blade and handle are stainless steel, the knife also has a clean, all-metal build.

A black nylon belt sheath is included for carry, which is useful with a folding design that does not follow the shape or pocket-clip layout of a typical modern folder. This model is made in France.
