This Fireboy-Xintex gasoline and propane sensor is a replacement element for P series detection systems, so a worn or damaged sensor can be swapped without replacing the control head.

Placement decides whether it works. Propane and gasoline vapour are heavier than air and collect low, so the sensor goes near the floor beside the propane-powered appliance, not on a bulkhead at eye level. Keep it clear of areas where cleaning, mopping or a stray boot will reach it, and never use harsh chemicals to clean the sensor itself, since they poison the element.

Mounting uses appropriate 8 hardware with the supplied rubber gasket between the sensor and the surface. It connects to the extension cable through quick-disconnect connectors, and that cable is sold separately. There is more in our gas & carbon monoxide detectors.
