When fire breaks out on a diesel-powered boat, the engines need to shut down before or during a suppression system’s discharge for the extinguishing agent to do its job; a running engine keeps pulling air through, lowering the agent concentration below what’s needed to put the fire out. This Fireboy-Xintex 5-Circuit Engine Shutdown System solves exactly that problem.

It pairs a Shutdown Control Module with a round helm readout that includes an override switch, cutting power to engines, generators, and blower systems automatically the instant a fire’s detected. Five circuits run through 20-amp relays, enough to handle multiple engines and systems in one setup.
