The trapper is the classic two-blade working pattern, and the pairing is deliberate: the clip blade takes general cutting while the spey, with its flat edge and blunted tip, handles skinning and scraping without puncturing what lies underneath. Delrin replaced bone on working stock knives because it resists cracking, moisture and the chemicals found around livestock, and it holds its dimensions where natural material moves. Stainless bolsters resist corrosion at the pivot points better than nickel silver, and the slip joint keeps the mechanism simple with nothing to release.
