Cattlemans Cutlery Farriers Companion Knife

Description

The Cattlemans Cutlery Farriers Companion in Yellow has a satin-finished 3Cr13 stainless clip blade and a farrier’s hoof pick with a yellow synthetic handle, nickel silver bolsters, closing to 4.13 inches.

The hoof pick is the blade that defines this pattern. It is a blunt, hooked tool for cleaning packed dirt, stones and manure out of a horse’s hoof before shoeing, work no cutting edge can do without injuring the animal. The clip blade handles the cutting half of barn work, and a slip joint holds both tools on spring tension with no lock to release, which keeps the mechanism simple where dirt and hair get into everything.

Yellow is the most visible handle color in a barn, where a dropped dark-handled knife disappears into bedding and is rarely found again. Explore more Traditional Pocket Knives.
