Byrd Hawkbill Serrated 8Cr13MoV Black GFN Lockback Knife

Description

The Byrd Hawkbill, part of Spyderco’s budget-friendly import line, pairs a serrated 3-inch 8Cr13MoV hawkbill blade with a thumb slot opener, set in a black GFN handle with a reversible pocket clip, closing to 4 inches.

That thumb slot, a cutout at the blade spine rather than Spyderco’s signature round hole, still delivers fast one-handed opening at an accessible price point. The hawkbill blade curves sharply downward toward the tip, excelling at pulling cuts, drawing rope, cord, or fibrous material into the curved edge for a slicing action a straight blade can’t replicate, and the serrated edge adds further bite through tough material. A lockback secures the blade open with a spine-mounted release, one of the most trusted traditional locking mechanisms available for its strength.

The four-way reversible pocket clip adapts to left or right-handed, tip-up or tip-down carry preference. Byrd brings Spyderco’s design sensibility to an accessible price point. It’s a fitting pickup for buyers who want Spyderco’s design philosophy without paying the full premium price tag. Hawkbill blades remain uncommon among everyday carry folders, making this a specialized pickup for anyone who needs one.
