Blue Sea 9233 Analog Meter Shunt – 200A/50mV

Description

The Blue Sea 9233 Analog Meter Shunt provides the precision low-voltage signal needed for compatible DC ammeters to measure current in higher-amperage circuits. It is rated 200A at 50mV and is designed for use with Blue Sea analog DC current meters.

Instead of routing the full circuit current through the meter itself, the shunt carries the high current and develops a small proportional voltage that the ammeter reads. This allows the display to be mounted conveniently at the helm or electrical panel while the shunt remains in the heavy-current portion of the system.

Blue Sea recommends that shunts used continuously not be operated above approximately two-thirds of their rated current under normal conditions. That provides operating margin and helps maintain dependable measurement performance.
