Description

Buy the Blue Sea Systems 8380 when the circuit list has got long. Main plus 22 positions covers a boat running refrigeration, electronics, pumps, cabin and nav lighting and a windlass, each on its own protected circuit. Sixteen 15A single pole breakers and a 100A C-Series main are installed, leaving the rest to fill in as things get added.

Metering here is two separate instruments rather than one screen: an 8028 DC micro voltmeter and an 8250 analog micro ammeter. You watch both at once, which is handy when you are trying to see what a pump actually pulls at startup. A toggle switch swings the meters across as many as three banks. If the boat later goes to 24 volts, the analog meters can be swapped by the owner for the 8240 or 8243 units rather than replacing the panel.

Buses for positive, negative and ground are installed and pre-wired. Circuit labels are backlit as standard and ON indicating LEDs sit in every position. Construction is 1/8 inch 5052 aluminum, two-part polyurethane slate gray, over MIL-C-5541C or equivalent immersion undercoating. Countersunk mounting holes, industry standard height and width, cutout template and 30 large format labels are all part of it, with more than 500 individual labels sold separately.
