Description

The Blue Sea Systems 8247 AC Digital Multimeter with Alarm covers four readings at once: amperage from 0 to 150 amps, voltage from 80 to 270 volts, power from 0 to 45 kilowatts, and frequency from 40 to 90 hertz. A current transformer is included.

The kilowatt reading is the one most AC meters leave out, and it is the most useful number on a boat running a generator. Amps and volts tell you what is happening electrically; kilowatts tell you how hard the set is working and whether you can start the air conditioning without tripping something.

Alarms cover high and low voltage and high amperage, sounding and showing on screen. The front is splashproof, brightness has three levels, and a programmable sleep mode blanks the display to conserve power when nobody is looking at it. Compare with our other marine electrical meters.
