Blue Sea 8242 Shunt Adapter for DC Ammeters

Description

The Blue Sea 8242 Shunt Shifter is an adapter for DC digital ammeter installations that require the shunt to be placed on the positive side of the circuit. This is especially useful for alternator-current measurement and other applications where a standard negative-side shunt arrangement is not practical.

The adapter is designed for use with the Blue Sea 8255 Digital Meter Shunt. Its electronics shift the shunt’s positive reference to the negative reference required by compatible digital meters, allowing the meter to interpret the current signal correctly without redesigning the rest of the monitoring system.

The Shunt Shifter installs directly on the shunt using the existing sense screws, keeping the installation compact and reducing additional wiring. It is suitable for 12V through 36V DC systems and includes the necessary installation hardware.
