Description

The Blue Sea 7701 ML-Series Solenoid is a high-current 12V remote battery switch designed to reduce long heavy-cable runs in larger marine electrical systems. By mounting the solenoid close to the battery and controlling it from a remote Contura switch, the installation can keep high-amperage conductors shorter while still giving the operator convenient control.

The magnetic-latching design draws current only while changing state and consumes no holding current in the steady On or Off position. Silver-alloy contacts provide reliable switching of live loads, while heavy 3/8-inch copper studs accommodate large battery cables. Blue Sea rates the unit for 500A continuous service, making it suitable for main battery switching on inboard gasoline or diesel engine systems and other substantial DC loads.

This model does not include a manual-control mechanism at the solenoid itself, so normal operation is through the remote control circuit.
