Description

The Blue Sea Systems 7042 is an 80 amp panel mount 187-Series breaker, and it is specified more precisely than most of the family. Interrupt capacity is quoted at 5000A at 14V DC, 3000A at 28V DC and 1500A at 48V DC, with maximum voltage 48V DC and an operating range of -40°C to 85°C.

Terminal studs are 5/16-18 torqued to 75 inch-pounds, or 8.47 Nm, and mounting holes accept 10 or M5 screws. The breaker weighs 8 ounces and the case is thermoset polyester. Class is Type III, switchable with manual reset and trip free.

Operation is by a single precise lever that combines switching with circuit protection, and its vertical or horizontal position indicates whether the breaker has tripped. Ample clearance around the terminal studs accepts heavy gauge wire lugs, mounting holes are recessed for appearance, and the unit is waterproof and ignition protected for gasoline powered boats.
